The Low-carb Monte Cristo you’ll crave on Friday - use leftovers!

Hello Reader,

Hopefully, you will be staring at a fridge full of leftovers on Friday! If so, this Monte Cristo sandwich is a fun way to reinvent ham and/or turkey.

Read how to make it here👇

Notes from My Kitchen

Growing up, I always ordered a Monte Cristo Sandwich when it was on the menu. But the original is deep-fried and showered in powdered sugar. It's not an option anymore.

Enter my version. My biggest trick is choosing a lighter bread (and, of course, making it a grilled cheese). In my kitchen, I use Dave's Killer Bread®, a thin-sliced variety. My keto chaffles would bring the carb count even further.

I also go easy on the jam and use a sugar-free brand. And yes, you should definitely use leftover low-sugar cranberry sauce.

With these changes, you still get the delicious contrast of sweet and savory like the original, just in a smarter way. 🥰
